Getting Started
Plans, migration, what Inkslips is, and how to launch your studio.
How much does Inkslips cost?
Inkslips has three public plans. Artist is $29/month for one artist: a booking page, rates by the hour, half day and day, custom requests and deposits at booking. Artist Pro is $49/month and adds the AI assistant on the front desk, design sign-off, text reminders and gift cards. Studio is $119/month for up to 10 artists on one shop page. There is no platform fee on any plan, and every plan starts with a 30-day free trial with no card.
PermalinkWhat is the Artist plan?
Artist is Inkslips's $29/month plan for one tattoo artist with their own chair. It includes your booking page, rates by the hour, half day and day, custom requests, deposits taken at booking, and consent and aftercare forms. Move up to Artist Pro for the AI assistant, or to Studio for a shop with several artists.
PermalinkWhat is the difference between Inkslips's Artist Pro and Studio plans?
Artist Pro ($49/month) is for one busy artist: the AI assistant answers requests and drafts replies, clients sign off the design, and reminders go out by text and email. Studio ($119/month) covers up to 10 artists with one shop page, a shared calendar, commissions and a custom domain.
PermalinkWhat does the Studio plan include?
Studio is $119/month and covers a shop of up to 10 artists: one shop page with every artist's rates and calendar, a shared book, commission tracking and a custom domain for the page.
PermalinkHow is Inkslips different from general salon booking apps?
General booking apps are built for short salon services. Inkslips is built for tattoo work: clients book by the hour, half day, full day or several days, custom work starts with a request the artist accepts, and the deposit is charged at booking and credited to the final session. There is no platform fee and no cut of your deposits.
PermalinkCan I import my existing client list from another platform?
Yes. Inkslips imports CSV exports from Vagaro, Booksy, GlossGenius, Square Appointments, Mindbody, StyleSeat, and Schedulicity directly. Names, emails, phone numbers, and basic appointment history map automatically. Most artists complete migration in under 30 minutes for lists of 200 clients or fewer. Studios with larger or more complex setups can request guided onboarding from Inkslips's team during signup.
PermalinkHow do I switch to Inkslips from my current tool?
Switching takes minutes. Export a CSV of your clients from your current tool (Vagaro, Booksy, GlossGenius, Square, Mindbody, StyleSeat, or Schedulicity), then in Inkslips go to Settings → Import Clients and upload it — names, emails, phones, and basic history map automatically. Prefer we do it for you? Email your export to support@inkslips.com and we'll import it as soon as possible, free.
PermalinkDoes Inkslips include a native mobile app for clients?
Yes — every Inkslips plan (including Artist at $29/month) includes the iOS and Android client app. Clients get push notifications for booking confirmations, reminders and aftercare.
PermalinkDoes Inkslips take a cut of what my studio makes?
No. Inkslips charges one monthly plan price and no platform fee, so Inkslips adds 0% to a studio's payments. The payment processor still charges its standard card fees, usually about 2.3% to 3% per card payment. Deposits taken at booking protect the day against no-shows and late cancels.
PermalinkI'm a spray tan artist. How do I list my studio?
Inkslips is a full studio-management platform for tanning professionals. Visit the features page or pricing page to learn more, pick the tier that fits, and sign up — or email support@inkslips.com and we'll help you get set up.
PermalinkHow do I set up the email address clients see for my studio?
Go to Settings → Booking Page and fill in the Public email field (for example hello@yourstudio.com). This is the address shown to clients on your booking site and confirmations, so use an inbox you actually check. It works for every studio — mobile artists and fixed studios alike — and needs no extra setup. Leaving it blank simply hides the email from clients. A custom sending domain is a separate, optional step on the same page for studios that want confirmations to come from their own domain; you do not need one to start taking bookings.
